12 yrs doing high end software development for oil and gas and
other government agencies.
Microsoft certified application developer in .NET web
development.
2003 to present doing web development for Visa debit processing
in Denver.
Member of C.A.F. since 2003 enjoying many hours polishing the
wing’s aircraft.
“My passion for all kinds of aircraft began with seeing the Blue
Angels perform in Galveston TX in 1972 at the age of 7. This
love for aircraft and the desire to understand them drove me to
acquire my degree. While I have never used the degree to
actually design aircraft professionally, I still study and
appreciate the knowledge I learned in pursuit of my degree. My
hope is to some day actually get my pilot’s license so that I
can fly some of these magnificent machine and ‘Slip the surly
bonds of Earth, and touch the face of God.’” |

Col Mark Weigand
Mark Weigand was born in Wichita,
Kansas. His father was a World War II US Army veteran and Mark
had an uncle who worked for Boeing Aircraft Company. His
father's stories and uncle's tours of the Boeing aircraft
manufacturing plant kindled his interest in aviation at an early
age, which has continued to be a lifelong pursuit. He enjoys
riding in vintage aircraft and has flown in a DC-3, two
different B-17s, and the C-45 among other civilian aircraft.
Mark has degrees from Colorado State University and the
University of Utah and has taught at Metropolitan State College
of Denver since moving to Denver in 1981. He joined the Mile
High Wing CAF in 2006. |

Louisiana (now University of Louisiana) in Lafayette, LA., MS
Systems Management from University of Southern California, Los
Angeles, CA.
27+ yrs at Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin as a Sr. Manager
integrating cost and schedule aspects of large aircraft and
spacecraft programs. Always interested in history - especially
WWII aircraft. Extensive WWII DVD collection. CAF Life Member
since 2001. |

Information Officer / Newsletter Editor: Col Bob Elsloo
Bob attended Fort Lewis College,
Metropolitan State College, and Colorado School of Mines
retiring from the USGS, Rocky Mountain Mapping Center in 2004
serving as the senior cartographer of two final editors, tasked
with reviewing all maps produced covering the western US,
Alaska, Hawaii and Pacific Islands. Bob is a life member of the
National Eagle Scouts Association, a Vigil OA member; is an
active 33º Scottish Rite Mason and Past Grand Master of the
Grand York Rite of Colorado. Bob and wife Debbie enjoy visiting
historical parks and museums, participating in living history
events, and have played roles in documentary movies. Bob has had
a lifelong interest in military aviation history, holds a Gold
Life CAF membership, and has visited CAF air shows annually
since 1993. |
