We welcome you to join us at our Wing
meetings, or at any of our events. These are excellent
opportunities to view firsthand our dedication to preserving the
memory of those who gave so much of themselves so that we may
enjoy our current freedom. We work hard to preserve this history
"lest we forget".
One common misconception is
that we are all pilots or aircraft owners. Not So!
All members are volunteers who have a great love for maintaining
and flying these airplanes for years to come. You do not have to
be an airplane mechanic or hold a pilot certificate to become
involved with the Mile High
Wing.
Many other duties need to be filled, ranging from displays,
restoration, fund raising, maintenance and public speaking, to
name a few. These duties, no matter how large or small, can give
you the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to keep part of
history alive for future generations.
Our Wing meetings are
usually held the third Saturday of each month. We meet in the
main building of the Front Range Airport terminal at 10:00 AM.
These meetings provide us time to do training, host a guest
speaker, and coordinate our activities at upcoming aviation
events.
To join our Wing, you must
first be a member of the national CAF organization which costs
$200 for the first year (you get your Colonel's wings!) and $160
thereafter. This cost, and all others are tax-deductible. Our Wing
dues are $45 per year. You may also join multiple local units
throughout the US.
