Join us as we honor the memory of an aviation pioneer, Micky
Axton. A World War II WASP, first woman to pilot the
Boeing
B-29 Superfortress, and may of other note worthy items
of interest. |

10:00am - American Legion '"LEGION RIDERS" escort
Axton family to White Chapel Cemetery. (see map)
11:00am - Memorial service will begin.
Commemorative Air Force Jayhawk Wing Col Jim
Graves - Officiating.
11:15am - United States Air Force - Honor Guard
render full military honors.
11:15am - World War II airplane flyover.
United States Air Force participating.
11:30am - Depart to hangar #8, Jabara Airport -
3512 N. Webb Road (see map)
- Reception and media interviews.
- Aircraft doing the flyover will be on the ramp
for viewing.
11:40am - Vice Mayor,
Jeff
Longwell, will read City of
Wichita proclamation.
