Bob "No-Neck" West

WEST-Bob "No-Neck", age 66 years. Passed away peacefully in his home on June 16th, 2007. He is survived by three children; Benjamin and wife Cortney, daughter Martha and son David. One grandson, Caleb. Also survived by sister, Marcia Hunt, and ex-wife Yvonne. Bob was born April 1st, 1941 in Bayonne, NJ. He attended Western Michigan University where he played football and obtained his private pilot's license. West retired from Motorola, where he specialized in public safety communications for 37 years. Bob's love and passions in life were family, good people, airplanes and air shows. To enhance that passion, Bob became a certified pyrotechnics expert with the Tora Bomb Squad, performing WWII re-enactments at hundreds of air shows across the country. Bob's biggest joys in life were the many people he touched with his sense of humor, wit and story-telling. Bob was also involved in organizations and activities such as the Commemorative Air Force, Quiet Birdmen, Eagles (Aerie 3912), BBQ contesting, and was a devout Creighton Basketball fan.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 205 Industrial Dr., Bellevue, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Tora Tora Tora - P.O. Box 219 LaMarque, TX 77568; International Council of Air Shows Foundation, Inc. 751 Miller Dr SE Ste F-4 Leesburg, VA 20175, or the American Heart Assoc.
