Directions to Prairie Rose:
They are located at 15231 SW Parallel Street, Benton KS. Due to
road construction Butler Road between 254 Hwy and Parallel is
closed, so they suggest the following route: |
|
Take 254 Hwy (61st Street North) to 159th Street East, turn left
(North) and go about 2 miles to 77th Street North (or it may be
called Parallel Street – 77th turns into Parallel at the Butler
County line). Turn right (East) onto 77th/Parallel and go about
1-1/2 miles to Prairie Rose. |
|
WARNING!! The 2 miles of 159th
Street East between Hwy 254 and 77th are gravel as is the first 1
mile after you turn onto 77th/Parallel. The lady I spoke with at
Prairie Rose said the gravel roads are in very good condition. |
However, if you don’t want to travel on gravel, they suggest you
do the following:
Take 254 Hwy (61st Street North) to Greenwich Road, turn left
(North) and go 5 miles to 101st Street North, turn right (East)
and go 4 miles to Butler Road, turn right (South) and go 3 miles
to Parallel, turn left (East) and go about 1/2 mile to Prairie
Rose.
This route obviously takes you several miles out of your way, but
it keeps you on paved roads. |
|
The mission of the Central Prairie Honor
Flight is to take every Kansas WWII veteran to visit
their WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. |
|
Central Prairie Honor Flight
needs to raise $150,000
and proceeds from this event will go toward this very worthy
mission. |
